Optometry is a specialty that is concerned with the examination and diagnosis of eye conditions. At our optometry store in London, our optometrists carry out eye exams to determine whether the patient has any eye related disorders. They are able to prescribe glasses or contact lenses if necessary.

On top of offering standard eye sight and health tests at our optometry store, we also carry out additional examinations such as Colour Vision, Visual Fields, Eye Pressure and Depth Perception tests.

We were the first optometry store in the world to offer the revolutionary Optomap Retinal Imaging as part of our basic patient care regime. Optomap Retinal Imaging forms an important part of the standard eye exam, enabling us to take a panoramic photograph of the back of your eye. This shows much more of the retina than conventional methods. Furthermore it extends the viewable area by around 200 degrees.

The optometrists at our store will analyze this picture as well as carry out more traditional eye sight and health checks to ensure that your eye exam is as thorough as possible. The standard eye exam that we carry out at the 20-20 optometry store allows our optometrists to:

• Check that the muscles of your eyes work together
• Check the health of your eyes
• Perform in-depth further testing, if required
• Diagnose any eye sight conditions
• Determine any treatment that you might need and write the necessary prescriptions for it.
